Karachi halwa or bombay is delicious halwa recipe which takes few minutes to prepare. And also beginner can prepare it easily. This easy corn flour halwa is called as bombay halwa or karachi halwa. My aunt makes the wonderful karachi halwa and i can say she makes the best halwa. To make this halwa we require corn flour / corn starch, ghee, sugar and any food color of your choice. You can use orange, green, yellow and red.
Since the festival seasons started all would be busy in sweet preparations or planning what sweet to prepare. You can make this easy and quick corn flour halwa which requires basic ingredients and you can make in this all together under few minutes. In India we use corn flour to make this halwa but if you are in western parts use corn starch for this recipe. This recipe gives you soft and delicious halwa.

Easy and quick corn flour halwa / karachi Halwa
Ingredients
- 1 cup Corn flour / Corn starch
- 3+1 cup Water
- 1.5 Sugar
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- Food color
- 1/4 cup Ghee
- Nuts chopped
Instructions
- Take all the required ingredients
- In a bowl take corn flour and add 3 cups of water and mix well without any lumps and keep it aside
- Heat a heavy bottom pan or non stick pan in that take 1.5 cup sugar and 1 cup water and stir it well until sugar dissolves completely
- Add 1 tsp lemon juice and mix well and cook on medium flame
- Once the water starts to boiling add the corn flour mixture and stir it continuously in medium to flow flame
- Add the food color and mix well by now it starts to thicken stir it continuously in medium flame
- The corn flour mixture will began to become sticky and thicken now add ghee little by little and mix well
- Stir it continuously and cook till the ghee is no more absorbed
- Now add chopped nuts and cardamom powder and mix well
- Now the corn flour mixture began to thicken and forms a mass at this stage switch of the flame
- Pour the mixture into greased tray and allow it to cool it for sometime and cut into slices
