Easy Vegetable cutlet recipe / Cutlet recipe / Starter recipe / snacks recipe / how to make veg cutlet/ veg patties recipe with detailed step step photos. Veg cutlet is a delicious snacks and popular starter recipe made with vegetables like carrot, potato, peas and corn. And other ingredients are Bread crumbs, corn starch, maida and oil. I make this easy vegetable cutlets / veg patties for evening snacks and for vegetable burgers. Veg cutlet has two versions one is shallow fried and the other one is deep fried. You can make according to your preference however deep fried ones are more crispy than shallow fried. You can use this vegetable cutlet as veg patties to stuff in veg burger too,skip corn if making it for burger. I usually make these patties for burger.

How to make easy vegetable cutlet

To make Veg cutlet we use many vegetables like carrot, peas, beans,potato, sweet potato, paneer, zucchini, cauliflower, broccoli and raw banana. You can add which ever is available for you. As this easy veg cutlet is versatile you can adapt according to your taste. Here i have used carrot, green peas, corn and potato.

KANDA POHA

We need other ingredients like Chili powder, Garam masala powder, bread crumbs(optional), Ginger, salt and oil to make the patties.

All purpose flour/Maida or corn flour slurry we dip the cutlet balls in this slurry to coat them well. You can use either corn starch(corn flour) or All purpose flour.

Bread Crumbs makes the veg cutlets crispy alternatively you can roll the cutlet in powdered poha. This also helps to get crispy cutlets.

You can bake the veg cutlet in oven for low calorie cutlet, just place them in baking tray and drizzle some oil and bake it for 15 -20 minutes.

You can add sweet potatoes instead of potato in this recipe.

I make this easy vegetable cutlets / veg patties for evening snacks and for vegetable burgers. Veg cutlet has two versions one is shallow fried and the other one is deep fried.
– Heat a pan with some oil and add finely chopped onions and grated ginger and saute it till they turn soft
– To this add corn, Peas and carrot and add the required salt and mix well cover and cook for 5 minutes or until veggies cook completely
– Add red chili powder, garam masala and mix
– Add boiled and mashed potato and mix everything well and switch of the flame and transfer it to a bowl
– Add 4 tbsp bread crumbs to the veg mixture ( this helps to absorb the moisture) and mix well
– Make slurry by mixing corn flour and water and set aside
– Take a small ball size from the veg mixture and press it in your palm or you can roll it (cutlet can be made into any desired shapes)
– Now dip the prepared cutlet in corn flour slurry
– Coat it with the bread crumbs
– Heat a pan with some oil and add the prepared cutlets
– And cook on the both side in a medium flame ( alternatively you can deep fry the cutlets in oil or you can bake them in oven)
– Serve it hot with ketchup

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger grated
  • 1 large Carrot cubed
  • 1/2 cup Sweet corn fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup Peas Fresh or frozen
  • 2 large Boiled potato or sweet potatoes
  • 1 Green chili finely chopped optional
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 3/4 tsp Garam masala
  • Salt
  • 3-4 tbsp All purpose flour or Corn Starch mixed with water to make slurry
  • Bread crumbs
