Prawns is sea food. prawns are one of my favorite and i make it more often. There are varieties of prawns in the market. Prawns are rich source of antioxidants and has high level of zinc also they are very low in calories. This prawns pepper fry is so easy to make with few available pantry ingredients.

PRAWNS MASALA

I make many recipes with prawns and the best part is they are very easy to cook and cooks very fast. Prawns pepper fry is one among them this can be made under 30 minutes altogether. You can serve this easy prawn fry / chettinad prawns with Steamed rice, rasam rice or with any pulav. Prawns pepper fry can be made quickly altogether under few minutes. It has that freshly ground pepper and cumin in it which makes the dish delicious and flavorful.

Prawn Pepper Fry

Prawns are rich source of antioxidants and has high level of zinc also they are very low in calories. This prawns pepper fry is so easy to make with few available pantry ingredients.
– In bowl take the cleaned prawns to that add turmeric powder, salt mix well and set
– In a blender jar take Pepper corns and Cumin/ jeera seeds
– Blend them to a coarse
– Then heat a pan with some oil and add fennel/ sombu, Cinnamon and saute
– Add Chopped onions and saute it until they turns translucent
– Add ginger garlic paste, curry leaves and red chili and saute them briefly
– To this add ground Pepper cumin, garam masala and turmeric powder and cook them
– Then add marinated prawns and mix well with the masala and add 1/4 cup water ( do not add more water )
– Cook for 7-8 minutes or till the prawns cooked completely
– Serve it hot with Steamed rice or with pulav

Ingredients
  

  • 500 gms Prawns Deveined and cleaned
  • Salt
  • Turmeric
  • 1 tbsp Pepper corns
  • 1 tsp Cumin / jeera
  • 2-3 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Fennel / sombu
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 2 medium sized Onion Finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • few Curry leaves
  • 2 Red chili
  • 1 Green chili optional
  • 1 tsp Garam masala

Instructions
 

  • In bowl take the cleaned prawns to that add turmeric powder, salt mix well and set
  • In a blender jar take Pepper corns and Cumin/ jeera seeds
  • Blend them to a coarse
  • Then heat a pan with some oil and add fennel/ sombu, Cinnamon and saute
  • Add Chopped onions and saute it until they turns translucent and add ginger garlic paste, curry leaves and red chili and saute them briefly
  • To this add ground Pepper cumin, garam masala and turmeric powder and cook them
  • Then add marinated prawns and mix well with the masala and add 1/4 cup water ( do not add more water )
  • Cook for 7-8 minutes or till the prawns cooked completely
  • Serve it hot with Steamed rice or with pulav

Notes

You can add 1 tomato to make it semi gravy
Adjust the spice level according to your taste
Do not add more water to cook the prawns
