There are many red chutney versions as tomato onion chutney which is also called as red chutney. But this chutney is very simple to make as it requires very few things this is spicy too. I will soon share onion and tomato red chutney in this blog. Mysore masala dosa is very famous and this chutney is key in that dosa. You can adjust the spice level according .to your taste. In this i have used byadagi red chili to get the colour, but you can use any red chi.li.

Red chutney |chutney recipe for mysore masala dosa

– Heat a kadai with some oil and add Urad dal and chana dal (kadalai paruppu) and saute
– Then add onion, ginger, garlic and red chilli and saute till the
– Once it cool downs add it to blending jar and add small tamarind, salt and little water and blend it
– Blend it to slightly coarse not too coarse
– Serve this with idli dosa or with masala dosa

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp Urad dal
  • 1 tbsp Chana dal
  • 2 medium Onion
  • small piece Ginger
  • 2-3 cloves Garlic
  • 4-5 Red chili byadgi chili or kashmiri chili
  • small Tamarind
  • salt
  • 2 tsp Oil

Notes

Byadgi chili or kashmiri chili gives nice red colour to the chutney  but you can use other chili also 
adjust the spice level according to your taste
