Mushroom Biryani |Mushroom biryani in pressure cooker | How to make Mushroom biryani recipe with detailed step by step photos. This is spicy and one pot biryani there are many variations in making mushroom biryani. Based on their region and the ingredients used. Biryanis are always special delicacies it may be veg or non veg. I usually make non veg biryanis like Mutton and chicken dum biryani. With mushrooms usually i make kadai mushroom or simple subzi.
For ground paste
- In a blender jar add Ginger, garlic, cinnamon, fennel/sombu, mint leaves and coriander leaves
- Blend it to smooth and set aside
To make mushroom biryani
- In a pressure cooker heat some oil and ghee and add cinnamon, Bay leaf, jeera, star aniseed and saute
- Now add sliced onions and saute them till it turns golden brown
- Then add the ground paste and saute that till the raw smell goes
- Add chili powder, turmeric and biryani masala and saute them
- Now add tomatoes and cook till it turns soft
- Then add curd / yogurt and mix it with the masala
- Add mushroom and saute it with masala for 2 minutes

Ingredients
  

For ground Paste

  • small Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Fennel / Sombu
  • small Ginger
  • 4-5 pods Garlic
  • few Mint leaves / pudina
  • few Coriander leaves

For mushroom biryani

  • 250 gms Mushroom
  • 1&1/2 cup Basmati rice
  • 2 medium Onion
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 2-3 tbsp Curd
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tbsp Biryani masala
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • Water
  • Salt

Whole spices

  • small Cinnamon
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 tsp Jeera
  • 1 Star aniseed

Instructions
 

For ground paste

  • In a blender jar add Ginger, garlic, cinnamon, fennel/sombu, mint leaves and coriander leaves
  • Blend it to smooth and set aside

To make mushroom biryani

  • Wash and clean the mushroom and spoak 1.5 cups basmati rice
  • In a pressure cooker heat some oil and ghee and add cinnamon, Bay leaf, jeera, star aniseed and saute
  • Now add sliced onions and saute them till it turns golden brown
  • Then add the ground paste and saute that till the raw smell goes
  • Add chili powder, turmeric and biryani masala and saute them
  • Now add tomatoes and cook till it turns soft
  • Then add curd / yogurt and mix it with the masala
  • Add mushroom and saute it with masala for 2 minutes
  • Now add 3 cups water for 1.5 cup rice im adding 3 cups water so add it accordingly and add salt
  • Once water comes to boil add soaked basmati rice and cook for 2 whistles in medium flame
  • Once the pressure releases in its own open and serve hot
  • Serve Mushroom biryani hot with raita
