Chicken Shawarma roll / Easy Homemade chicken shawarma recipe

Chicken Shawarma roll / Learn how to make chicken shawarma roll at home/ Shawarma roll from scratch/ Shawarma kebab. Recipes with detailed step by step photos. Chicken Shawarma is a popular food from middle east cuisine which it is made of Pita bread, meat and tahini . In restaurants they use commercial Rotisserie to make Shawarma. Consisting of thin meat strips stacked in a cone like shape and roasted on a slowly turning vertical Rotisserie. However at home we can make at stove top in a pan or in oven. This very easy recipe to make at home.
- To make chicken shawarma kebab, Take mixing bowl add the cleaned boneless chicken strips and squeeze a lemon juice rub it
- To the chicken add chili powder, coriander powder,cumin powder, turmeric and salt and mix everything well with chicken
- Rest it for 30 minutes to 1 hour
- Heat a pan with some oil and add the marinated chicken cover and cook till the chicken is completely cooked
- Mean while pickle the veggies, In a bowl take all the cut veggies squeeze lemon juice and add salt mix well and keep aside
- Chicken is completely allow it to cool for sometime
- Cut the cooked chicken pieces into small chunks
Chicken shawarma:
- Take a parchment or baking paper and place one cooked pita bread and simmer it with mayonnaise / tahini
- Place some cooked chicken pieces
- Add some pickled veggies and add more mayonnaise if required and roll it
- You can serve chicken shawarma with any dip of your choice

Ingredients
  

For chicken shawarma

  • 500 gms Chicken boneless
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 2 tbsp Chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • Salt
  • Oil

To make Picked veggies

  • 1 Cucumber Cut into julienne
  • 1 Tomato Cut into julienne
  • 1 Carrot Cut into julienne
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • Salt

Other ingredients

  • Mayonnaise or Tahini or Shawarma sauce
  • Pita bread

Instructions
 

  • To make chicken shawarma kebab, In a mixing bowl take Cleaned boneless chicken add chili powder, coriander powder,cumin powder, turmeric and salt , mix everything well with chicken
  • Squeeze some lemon juice over the chicken and mix it. Rest it for 30 minutes to 1 hour
  • Heat a pan with some oil and add the marinated chicken cover and cook till the chicken is completely cooked it takes 20-25 minutes
  • Mean while pickle the veggies, In a bowl take all the cut veggies squeeze lemon juice and add salt mix well and keep aside
  • Chicken is completely allow it to cool for sometime
  • Cut the cooked chicken pieces into small chunks

Chicken shawarma

  • Take a parchment or baking paper and place one cooked pita bread and simmer it with mayonnaise / tahini and add pickled vegetables
  • Place some cooked chicken pieces and add more veggies and mayonnaise if required and roll it
  • You can serve chicken shawarma with any dip of your choice

Notes

I used mayonnaise in this recipe but you can use tahini or garlic yogurt dip or shawarma white sauce 
You can also make pita breads ahead and store it.
