Easy garlic Ribbon Pakoda / Snacks recipes / Murukku recipes / Quick and easy Snacks recipes with detailed instruction and step by step photos. Ribbon pakoda is a variation of murukku recipe. These are easy to make and also requires few basic ingredients. The authentic version of ribbon pakoda requires besan flour, whereas i used fried chana dal powder in this ribbon pakoda. My mom makes big batch of murukku varities during diwali and we enjoy those snacks for whole week one of those snacks are these ribbon pakoda recipe. In this easy ribbon pakoda recipe i added garlic for nice flavour. you can aslo add pepper or cumin as per your preference.
- Firstly take fried chana dal in to a blender jar and blend it in to fine powder and sieve it and set it aside
- In a blender jar take garlic pods, rock salt with some rice flour and blend it ( rice flour helps to blend the garlic easily )
- Take a large mixing bowl and add rice flour fried chana dal powder, garlic mix, salt, chili powder and hing and mix it well
- Add hot oil and rub it with the flour mix well
- Add water little by little to make soft and non sticky dough
- Fill the murukku press with ribbon pakoda plate (achu) and meanwhile heat oil for frying
- Press the dough to hot oil in circular way to form a layer do not make more layers as it may not get cooked properly
- Once the bubbles reduces flip it to other side and fry them and fry them in medium flame and take it out once it turns nice golden brown

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Rice flour
  • 1/2 cup Fried chana dal (potukadalai)
  • 4-5 pods Garlic
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • as per taste Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
  • Water
  • 2 tbsp + for frying Oil

Instructions

Notes

You can skip garlic and add pepper or cumin
