Ingredients
  

  • 200 gms Lauki / Bottle gourd
  • 1/2 cup Chana dal
  • 2 tbsp Oil / Ghee
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped
  • 1 medium Tomato chopped
  • 2 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • Salt
  • Water

Instructions
 

  • Firstly wash and soak the chana dal and peel the skin and chop the lauki and set aside
  • Heat a pressure cooker with some oil or ghee and add mustard seeds and cumin once it splutter add chopped onion and ginger garlic paste and saute it till onions turn soft
  • Now add tomatoes and cook till they turn soft
  • Add chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric and garam masala and mix well
  • Further add the soaked chana dal and chopped lauki and mix it with the masala
  • Add required water and salt and cover the lid and pressure cook it for 4-5 whistles in high flame and switch of the flame
  • When the pressure releases on its own add in the chopped coriander leaves
  • Serve it hot with roti, rice or paratha

Notes

Soak the chana dal for 30 minutes prior cooking
