In a bowl take 1 cup flour, 1tsp salt now add water as required and knead it to a soft dough
Soak the dough with ¼ cup oil, be generous in adding oil to get soft poli , soak the dough for 3 hrs or more
Heat Kadai, add ¾ cup Jaggery and ¼ cup water let the jaggery dissolve
Once the jaggery syrup starts to boil , add ¾ coconut and stir well cook on medium flame
Now add 1 cup cooked and mashed dal then mix well
Cook for 5 minutes or till the mixture thickens add cardamom powder and switch off the flame
After the dough had rested for 3 hrs, knead the dough once, and take a small ball sized dough and equal size stuffing
Use banana leaf or polythene sheet or baking paper to flatten the dough flatten the dough and keep the stuffing inside and seal the edges
Apply some oil and flatten the dough with hand it should be thin
Place the poli in hot tawa ,( I placed in tawausing banana leaf )
Cook on both the sides and apply ghee, flame should be in medium
Now serve the Poli/Boli/Holigea/obbatu with some ghee
