Soak the channa for 8 hour and pressure cook for 5 whistles
Now take the roughly chopped onion ginger and garlic and make puree and keep aside,in a blender take roughly chopped tomato and make puree
Heat some oil in a kadai, add cinnamom , bay leave and jeera
Now add the onion and ginger garlic puree and saute it
Add chole masala, turmeric and chilli powder and saute it well
Further add tomato puree and cook till it ozzes out oil
Add the cooked chana and mix well and add water if required use the stock of chana and cook for 2 minutes on high flame
When it starts boiling add the mashed channa this is optional and mix well and cover for cook for 5 minutes
Finally add kasuri methi and garam masala and switch off the flame
