Kanda poha recipe | How to make kanda poha recipe with detailed step by step photos. This Poha recipe is a famous dish in maharastra, and its made of beaten rice and onions. There are many varieties of poha like aloo poha peas poha and sweet poha. Kanda poha is my husband's favourite and i make it regularly, mostly for breakfast sometime for evening snacks. Kanda refers to onion in marathi so it is popularly know as kanda poha.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Poha
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 3 tbsp Peanuts
  • 1 tsp Jeera
  • 1 Green chilli
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • Salt as per taste
  • water
  • Lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • Firstly rinse the poha ( medium - thick) in hot water for 2 times and set aside
  • Heat a kadai with some oil and add Jeera / cumin, Peanuts and saute till peanuts turns crunchy
  • Now add onions and saute
  • Add few curry leaves and green chilli and saute
  • Now add turmeric and saute it
  • Now add Poha, add salt and mix well
  • Finally squeeze some lemon juice to the poha and switch off
  • serve the poha hot or warm with tea or coffee

Notes

Use medium to thick variety poha
You can add 1 tsp sugar if you like but i did not add
