Idli recipe |Idli with rice rava | How to prepare idli with rice rava recipes with detailed step by step photos. Idli is one of the common breakfast in south India and there are varieties of idli. Normal idli is made of soaked rice and urad dal. Later grinding it and fermenting the batter for certain hours and that is how we get soft idlis.
For soft idli you can use rice rava. In andhra they use rice rava for making idli. Rice rava/ rice sooji is coarse version of idli rice or parboiled rice. Preparing idli from rice race are easy as it can be grind very fast. In tamilnadu we use rice for idli recipe. After I came to Bangalore i started using this rice rava for idli recipe.
I do not use rice rava regularly only few instance I have used it. Last week when i made idli using rice rava I thought of sharing with you all in my blog. This rice rava yields very soft idli and also grinding process is very easy.
I used wet grinder for grinding this batter so i added everything together but if your using blending jar add it in batches. first grind Rice rava to smooth and take out then add urad dal and methi and grind it and mix together.
- You can also make dosa with this batter
- Batter should be the regular idli dosa batter consistency
- Ferment the batter for 8 – 10 hours depending on the climate
