Hotel style kara chutney recipe

Being southindian idli, dosa, appam, puttu and other southindian tiffin would be our regular breakfast. But sometime I make these type of instant breaksfast also. This recipe you can add finely chopped capsicum, grated carrot or cabbage also. But the original recipe requires only onion and tomato. Chilla can be served for evening snacks also with tea or coffee.

To make tasty chilla use good quality gram flour and use the fine variety flour. Finely chop the vegetables while adding it to the chilla. Coconut chutney or any spicy chutney goes well with chilla. You can rest the batter for 15 minutes before making chilla, and if your serving it for kids skip green chili. Add ajwain / carom seeds as it helps for digestion and the flavour goes well with besan/gram flour. Finally serve besan ka cheela with tea or chutney
