Prawns masala / Prawns thokku / Prawns recipe / Eral thokku recipe with detailed step by step photos. Prawns are my favourite i make biriyani and curry and this thokku from it. These Prawns masala (thokku) is in my monthly menu yes i make quite often as we both love prawns. Eral thokku/prawn masala goes well with white rice, chappati, dosa and idli. there are many ways that eral thokku is made but this is my version and everyone in the family likes it. This dish is very famous in Tamilnadu and there are many ways to prepare prawns thokku.
This recipe does not require any special masala. I made it with my homemade curry masala powder but you can use store bought curry masala powder or just use chili powder, coriander, turmeric, cumin powder, and garam masala.
Choose fresh prawns for this recipe This recipe requires more oil so be generous in adding oil. I use fry the prawns before adding it to the curry for extra taste and flavour but you can skip it and directly add it into the curry. This is semi gravy so add water accordingly.
