Pudina Chutney recipe | Mint chutney | How to prepare pudina Chutney recipes with detailed step by step photos. Pudina chutney is popular in indian cuisine, it is served in many forms. The pudina / mint has a number of health benefits. Pudina leaves are one of the oldest herb used to treat digestion problem, heart burns and it instantly helps to breath freshly, hence we use it in number of ways mainly we use it in our day to day cooking it is such flavorful herb.

I have already shared pudina pulao recipe in this blog. I make pudina chutney regularly to serve with idli, dosa and i also make pudina green chutney for chats.

There are many ways to make pudina chutney, today I shared my mom’s recipe she makes tasty pudina chutney. This chutney goes well with all south indian breakfast and also with plain white rice. Today I added tomato with this chutney which gives good taste to the chutney. I also make pudina chutney with fresh curd for all tandoori recipes or for snacks and chats i will share that recipe soon.

Tips to make good pudina chutney

Use fresh pudina leaves and do not use the stems.

You can sqeeze little lemon juice it helps in retaining the colour.

Do not add more water to the Pudina/mint chutney.

Pudina chutney is popular in indian cuisine, it is served in many forms. The pudina / mint has a number of health benefits. Pudina leaves are one of the oldest herb used to treat digestion problem, heart burns and it instantly helps to breath freshly, hence we use it in number of ways mainly we use it in our day to day cooking it is such flavorful herb.
– In a kadai heat 2 tsp oil and add channa dal and urad dal saute
– Now add red chilli, green chilli, Garlic cloves and Ginger and saute
– Now add Chopped tomato and cook for 2 minutes
– Further add cleaned pudina / mint leaves and saute it slightly
– Add shredded coconut and mix well and switch of the flame
– Once the mixture cool downs add it to a blender jar with some salt and little water
– Blend it well to the desired texture
– in a tadka pan heat some oil and mustard seeds once it crackles add red chilli and curry leaves and add the tadka to the chutney

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup Pudina / mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup Coconut
  • 1 no Tomato
  • 1 tbsp Urad dal
  • 1 tbsp Channa dal
  • 1 no Green chilli
  • 2 Red chilli
  • 2 tsp oil
  • water ( as required )
  • salt

For Tempering

  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard
  • 2 Red chilli
  • few Curry leaves

Instructions
 

  • In a kadai heat 2 tsp oil and add channa dal and urad dal saute
