Ingredients
Hotel style tomato chutney
- 2 medium Tomato
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 tbsp Chana dal
- 5 cloves Garlic
- 5-6 Dried red chili
- Handful Coriander leaves
- Salt
- ½ cup Water
For tempering
- 1 tsp Oil
- ½ tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 spring Curry leaves
- 1 Dried red chili
Instructions
Hotel style tomato chutney
- Heat a frying pan with 1 tsp oil, add chana dal saute it for a minute
- Add garlic cloves and saute it slightly till it changes its color
- Now add chopped tomatoes and cook till they are soft and mushy
- Add dried red chili and mix it with tomato mixture
- Then add coriander leaves and saute it for a minute and switch of the flame
- Allow it to cool and add the mixture to blender jar along with salt and water
- Blend until smooth and check for salt if required add more
To temper
- Heat small tadka pan with oil, add mustard seeds once it splutters add curry leaves and dreid red chili and switch of the flame
- Pour the tadka over chutney and serve it with idli or dosa
